Happy birthday to you!

18 July 2013 - In celebration of Madiba's 95th birthday, the whole school sang the special birthday song.  We then all joined hands and each one silently prayed for Mr Mandela. In honour of the 67 minutes of service, each child was encouraged to do good in some way and as a school we continue in our endeavours to support different charities.  Thus far, we have collected clothing for St Luke's Hospice and continue to collect the plastic bread clips for the Society for the Blind.  We will be inviting the aged from a local old age home to our school to be entertained by the dress rehearsal for our production.  They will be treated to eats and be made to feel special!  In the fourth term, our aim is to support a children's home.  Madiba is truly and inspiration to us all and we know that his legacy will live on forever.

Our Grade 4 boys helped to load the St Luke's Hospice van with all the clothing donations we collected.

On 18 July 2012, we celebrated Nelson Mandela's 94th birthday by singing along with every school in the country!  What a sense of Pride.  Did you hear us on Voice of the Cape?

Our learners donated toys, sweets and toiletries to St Annes Home.

Our head prefects handed over the donations.

Volunteers from the Textile and Clothing Union volunteered their time to our school by cleaning our toilet facilities for their 67 minutes!  Thank you so much!

A day filled with compassion and a spirit of giving - what a wonderful way to start the term.  Thank you, Madiba!
